David Walliams reprimanded by #BGT show bosses (according to the media)
As every audience comment about David Walliams ‘s Britain’s Got Talent debut has been positive and David has been getting on famously with Simon and the judges, it was s surprise to read the reports in the papers today. Every paper and media outlet around the world reported on how David had shocked contestants, judges and audiences alike with his behaviour and comments. It has been claimed that David has been reprimanded by bosses and told to reign it in. People who were in the audience have responded that they were not shocked and loved David the way he was. It would be a shame if ITV confused David and ruin his time on the show when he has been so happy on the show in the last few weeks.
Let’s hope it’s just media hype and David can continue to have fun and provide great TV for us!!
To Simon Cowell and the producers of Britain’s Got Talent,
Tell me, what did you expect from David Walliams? Surely before you chose to sign him on you must have looked over at least some of his unscripted appearances on talk shows and realized that he’s a bit of a loose cannon tastewise when he’s in improvisational mode, and that even in scripted mode he tends towards material of a sometimes shockingly outre nature. He mostly gets away with it because he happens to have an incredible sense of showmanship, and I guess you were counting on him to have some sort of internal governor to let him know when he’s going too far (after all, he seems to have managed all those in-person book signing events with children and the Thames swim without inciting moral outrage.) When this didn’t emerge you decided to publicly scold and humiliate this man you hired specifically for his outrageous sense of humor, for his outrageous sense of humor.
As a fan and admirer of David Walliams I am offended and disgusted by your treatment of him. I realize it’s the custom in the UK to disrespect David and treat him as a second-class entertainer rather than the gifted performing artist he actually is, but this is going too far. It is your program, not David, which is lacking in taste or you would have found a more suitable way to use his unique talents and accommodate his famously Freudian creative method.
Completely true! I (as a German) always thought the Britains in general are blessed with a very special sense of humor, which makes brilliant TV-shows like “Little Britain” possible. There is no comic production even half as funny in my country. If you hire David Walliams, you actually can’t want a tame suck-up.
OK, has ANYONE involved with the show EVER met David or watched his work? What did they expect, he pushes the boundries and can be pretty damn filthy. Maybe the ratings for that stupid show will go up now that someone interesting is judging. (Sorry, Michael McIntyre, I LOVE you, but it was clear you hated every second of being on that panel.)
After David's 4th heroic public charity challenge (not even counting his private work) fans thought it was time to create a petition for David to receive a knighthood. If you want to sign the petetion please visit this link.

Agree 100 0/0 the way David gets treated is shocking. You’d think people get some respect for him after all he’s been through for charity.
